Clinical management
- Explanation
- PD affects the way the body coordinates movements, main features are slow movement, tremor, stiffness
- Treatment
- Refer neurology – initial assessment and treatment
- Special services – physio, OT, speech therapy, specialist nurse, dietician
- Medications to help with symptoms (dopamine agonists or monoamine oxidase inhibitors)
- Surgery – deep brain stimulation
